SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

Mission Statement:  "The mission of the Second Missionary Baptist Church Scholarship Committee is to financially assist in the educational endeavors of the college bound youth of SMBC and the local community."
Mission Scripture: 
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
Membership:  All who are interested
Meetings:
  Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m.

BROTHERHOOD

Mission Statement:  "The Brotherhood's Mission is to enlist all men to Christ; to deepen the spirituality of men.  We also want to promote religious intelligence and to cultivate Christian fellowship.  We look at ourselves as a group, many or few, of consecrated men under girding the Pastor and supporting the entire program of the church and denomination." 
Charge/Motto:
  "Teach the Word at home with a consecrated heart, following the footsteps of our Savior, LEADING ALL MEN TO GOD!"
Membership:  Men, ages 18 & up
Meetings:
  Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m.

JR. BROTHERHOOD

Mission Statement:  "The Junior Brotherhood will forever strive; With the help of Christ by our side; To do whatever needs to be done; To cause some soul to Christ to be won; We shall spread His message far and near; And sing praises so that all may hear; Keep our bodies clean, healthy and strong; By walking in the paths that Christians belong."
Membership:  Boys & young men, ages 5 - 17
Meetings:
  Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m.

NURSES' AUXILIARY CORPS

Mission Statement: 
"The mission of this guild shall be to serve on a humanitarian basis; to assist the stricken and the helpless; to give urgent necessary first aid, nursing care, family health care, and child care; to impart general advice on problems of health that will help Christians understand the relation between spiritual and physical well-being, and to supply whatever prevention is needed."
Charge/Motto:  "To Serve, To Educate, To Help."
Membership:  CPR Card and First Aid Card required.
Meetings:  1st & 3rd Saturdays, 2:00 p.m.

ADULT USHERS

Mission Statement:  "To be faithful and obedient servants.  To serve God through our own worship and praise.  To boldly spread the gospel through the preaching and teaching of His Holy Word.  To witness to the unsaved so that they may accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  To encourage each usher to promote spiritual growth through prayer and study.  To let our lights shine so that others may see Christ in us and therefore glorify our Heavenly Father."
Charge/Motto:  "If every Usher was just like me, what type of Usher Board would this one be?"
Membership:  All who are interested
Meetings: 
Every Tuesday before the 1st & 3rd Sundays (unless otherwise notified)

WOMEN'S AUXILIARY #1 (Senior Mission)

Meetings:  1st & 3rd Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m.

WOMEN'S AUXILIARY #2

Mission Statement:  "Our focus is to be a ministry filled with hope...a place where women can find wisdom and support from other Christian women.  A place where we can find fellowship, and truth through God's Word in the bible, doctrinal teaching, and the strength to become virtuous women in the eyes of God.  We will therefore exercise our faith by evangelizing, encouraging and discipling God's women." 
Charge/Motto:
 "In this united band we stand, joined together, hearts and hand, to spread the gospel all over the land...Amen."
Membership:  Women, ages 40 & up
Meetings:  Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m.

IT MINISTRY

Mission Statement:  "Our mission is to provide technical support and assistance in the utilization and implementation of technology as a tool in Christian service for the Second Missionary Baptist Church.  In doing so, we seek to glorify God, serve others, and promote effective, efficient and productive use of technology in Christian ministry."
Charge/Motto:
 “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some of them.  I do all this for the sake of the gospel in order to have a share in its blessings.” (1 Corinthians 9:22b-23)
Membership:  All who are interested
Meetings:    Monday (TBA)

Mission Statement: 
Charge/Motto:  "Rejoice and praise His Name in unity!"
Membership:  Adults, ages 24 & up
Rehearsals:
    Thursdays, 6:30 p.m.

ANGELIC CHOIR

Charge/Motto: 
"This is my Bible, God's Holy Word.  I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.  I will hide it in my heart so that I might not sin against God.  Say not that I am a child, but that I sing praises unto God.  For He is Worthy to be Praised!"
Membership:  Youth & young adults, ages 13 - 25
